Hi all:
I'm a newbie in kubuntu community.
I was having fun trying all different versions of kubuntu like 6.04, 7.1 and 8.04
I accidentally found out the DVD i used to install come out with diffrent space requirement
6.04 and 7.1 consumes 2.X Gbyte on VMWARE for a 3.X Gbyte DVD
8.04 consumes 6.X Gbyte on VMWARE for a 3.X Gbyte DVD
I would like to know if there is any other way that I
I was wondering if there was a way to set resource usage per user. For example, if I use "grep -f <file1> <file2>" and the two files are very big it consumes a lot of resources. Onetime someone pinged me and asked what the hell I was doing and to kill it. Is there any way an SA can restrict usage so that no one consumes too many resources ?
I have an Ext4 formatted 1TB External Hard Drive [ExHDD]. The ExHDD is nearly full and I wanted to add some more files to it.
When I saw that Lost+Found folder has taken up almost 33GB of Space I DELETED it, in hope that I would regain that space. Now, after deleting I see that the Space I had hoped will be available is not.

I wonder if updating my system as suggested by the update manager consumes extra space?
Because even after installing all software I would like to use, I had about 10 GB free space. Now, without my knowledge, I have only 6GB free space.
Do I need to keep clearing temp folder contents like we do in Windows? If I need to delete, how do I do so? Any suggestions?
As the output of df -h shows here, something is eating up 5GB of free space. So, it's not available to use.
I'm also noticing sometimes that the hard disk gets filled up to 100% sometimes. So, I had to restart the machine or delete some unncessary files. Only noticed these in /home partition.
I never noticed until now, but when connecting my S3 to my PC via MTP, it does not display all the files in the /SdCard/Android/Data folder. All other folders seem fine.
