I'm using the HTC One X on AT&T.
How do I stop getting both text updates and the notifications on the bar thing at the top of the screen?
I only want ones of them not both.

I just upgraded from the HTC DNA to the M8, one thing I don't like and can't figure out if there is a workaround, on the DNA the lock screen would display all of my notifications (text, email, calendar) right on the lock screen so I could screen on and immediately see.

So I am a fairly new android user and I have a Galaxy S4 upgrading from an Iphone. My one and only problem is the notifications for text messages. On my Iphone I would receive a notification and when I would pull the conversation up all other texts during the period I had the text app and conversation on my screen I would hear a nice little beep not the full notification sound.
I updated my phone the other day. I finally updated it to 4.3. But since updating, some of my notifications have been screwed up. I have my default notification tone set to a particular tone. But my Twitter notifications uses a completely different sound. It wouldn't be that big of a deal except whenever I get a Twitter notification, it makes the same sounds as my wife's text notification.

I have a Galaxy note3 and the notifications are driving me nuts. I have turned off what i could find. I even uninstalled knox because it wouldn't allow me to unstick the notification tick. and now the bloody phone is notifying me that i have no notifications arrrrrgh!
