My laptop's way to turn the wireless on (something that has to be done everytime it is switched on, annoyingly.) is to press 2 key's together.
I've tried doing this, but nothing.

Hi, I'm using fedora 11 and find that sometimes the wireless just turn off by itself. The wifi LED goes OFF and Network Device Control->wlan0 becomes inactive. It usually happens when I open for a long time ( 24 hr ?) I try turning off the wireless and turning on. But only rebooting solves the problem...
I disable my wireless with Alt+F2 in asus netbook, and it gets switched off. ifconfig does not show wlan0 as one of the adaptors. Then, I put my netbook on suspend by closing the lid. When I open the lid, the wireless is switched on again, on its own.
Most of the times, I don't need or have a wireless network, and I work on LAN. Having the wireless radio on drains the battery.
OK, I have installed Slackware 14 on my laptop, and had no issues with my wireless card or any other drivers. Since I had no issues I went ahead and upgraded to Slackware-Current and still had no issues. I figured lets go three for three and upgraded the kernel. After upgrading my kernel to 3.10.14 I have having issues with the wireless card turning on, on boot.
Question regarding my wireless feature. For some reason when I click on windows mobility center and no longer have the option of turning on my wireless signal. It's off and the "turn on" button is greyed out. How can I check to make sure my wifi still works or at a minimum turn it back on.
I have a spartan computer. It has a built-in wireless module that up until recently I've had no issues with. The current problem is this. Everytime I shutdown the computer and it boots back up, I am unable to "hardware enable" the wireless. In NetworkManager, I am getting a 'grayed out' message that says "wireless is disabled by hardware switch".
I'm having problems with Wireless in my Ubuntu laptop. Whenever I start this laptop, the wireless connection for all the other devices in the house (other laptops, mobiles...) is switched off, including the Ubuntu laptop. So, I have to reset router and stop everything I was doing in other devices... Any clue of what is going on?
