I'm with Telus. I usually have my S3 on HSPA only. The speeds are perfectly fine for e-mail, or quick browsing. I only turn on LTE when I need the speed. The reason for this is the battery life is uncomparable. With LTE I'm lucky to hit 10 hours with 3 hours of screen time.
Hey,
I was recently using my phone that i got a couple days ago ( Bought it unlocked at my local Electronics store ) and i popped in my T-mobile sim card and after 1 day I looked at my status bar, I had H+ on the top right corner. I tested it out on my browser ( I was at a park while this happened ) and the data worked fast like on a T-mobile 4g phone.
Nokia Siemens Networks, in conjunction with US mobile operator T-Mobile, has submitted a proposal for a new HSPA standard that would deliver downstream bandwidths up to 650Mbps. Although the LTE and LTE-Advanced standards provide a clear roadmap to 1Gbps, Nokia Siemens says it is important to maintain a migration path to higher bandwidths for HSPA.
Ok here is the situation:
I switched to T-Mobile five days ago, I"ve already used 2.7 GB. Right now on my Nexus 4 it shows "H" with full bars, but I cannot do any data-intensive task, not even load an Instagram photo. I went settings-about-status and see "HSPA:10" for the first time. Am I being throttled?
I just got the jelly bean update a few days ago and ever since then my phone has gotten two new notifications. One for when I turn on my GPS and one for when I turn off Mobile Data. The messages are:
Mobile Data:
You will no longer be able to use applications such as Internet, Email, and YouTube via mobile networks.
When my contract is up with Verizon, I am going to switch to a prepaid service. I want to get an Android phone that can support HSPA+ on both T-Mobile and AT&T. Which phones fall into this category?
Thanks
Brent
We unfortunately don’t have the privilege of seeing the new Nexus devices in person, but that hasn’t stopped Google from announcing its newest additions to the Nexus family. Google went ahead and announced one of the worst kept secrets and announced the 3G HSPA+ Nexus 7 32GB model.
How to keep LTE and HSPA while disabling GSM/2G/Edge?
I keep randomly getting the "No Service" problem with Telus, and I'm assuming it's a very similar problem with the original S1.
I know you can set it to HSPA mode only, but I'm assuming this means no LTE.
I've gone to the phone codes > debug mode, but there's no option for LTE and HSPA... (not unexpected)
I have an AT&T One but want to use it on T-Mobile.... I've unlocked it and I get service, but only edge. Will I ever be able to get full HSPA on the AT&T version?
