Assuming your using the CUPS interface (http://localhost:631/) to configure your printer...When you're prompted to select the "driver" for your HP device, there should be "two" listed for your device...make sure you select the driver that ends in "...cups" and not the "...hplip or hpjis or whatever it ends in".  A restart of the PC and printer should do the trick. If not, just run...sudo hp-check --fix...in a terminal window, which should walk you through any discrepancies. Let us know how you (HowTos)
