I have one adsl modem/router which is not "top" of the line and it lack allot of options which I need. I was able to acquire one Cisco router recently which has all options that I need ( like DMZ, VPN, port forwarding, etc). I'm interested, if I connect the old modem/router to new Cisco router using bridge mode, will I be able to use all the features on the Cisco?
Greetings to all
Friends people with more knowledge than me ( and sense) can help to troubleshoot it.
When one should try to connect to port 3306 of particular ip here e.g. 345.56.67.87 it should be redirected to port 3306 of internal machine.
This is the scene : How can I access the particular port of the machine which is behind the router . i.e.
Home Net Topology
ISP/WAN > Modem > Router (linksys) >Router(CISCO 851W) > (serial cable) 2008 R2
I have the loopback cable connected from my server to the CISCO router. The router is connected to the router in the office with a crossover cable. It is connected to Lan port 4 (Linksys) and the cable is plugged in to the WAN port(CISCO).
I'm having trouble getting port forwarding to work and don't know what to try next. I am testing it using NetCat for windows.
I have one machine (A) connecting directly to the internet, and another (B) connecting to the internet through a sky router.
If I listen for a connection on A, and connect to it with B, it works.
I'm having a bit of trouble understanding which networking solution to use for my problem:
I have a home network which includes several computers behind a router either directly through the router or through switches.
The router I am using has DynDNS set up on it, I can VPN to my desktop via Hamachi, I can RDP via Windows 7 RDP, and I can do other sorts of fancy tricks.
The one last thing I wou
I have a PC behind a router with port forwarding setup Port 22 for SSH which works perfectly - I can login and everything. What I am trying to do is let this PC connect to a VPN and only allow traffic on local network or via the VPN connection (for internet access). This is also working great. As soon as the VPN connection is broken, the PC has no connection to internet.
I have a regular Linksys wireless router. I'm doing port forwarding for an internal server. All goes well when I use external IP address of wireless router but no connection is established when I use FQDN instead of external IP address. My DNS works and I checked it by nslookup. That's so weird.
Hi All,
SSH is timing out when I try to connect on my local system using my external IP/hostname. Using SSH from a remote system to the local system works, as does connecting using my local network IP.
I need to open port 8069 on external IP. from router point, internal-ip and port 8069 was set (to forward to that local ip). So it should be possible to connect from external-ip:8069 to internal-ip:8069? But for some reason it is not working.
Locally I can connect to with internal-ip:8069 to openerp server (through browser or gtk client).
Do I miss something?
