My wifi seems to keep messing up it keeps searching for a connection even though it is connected? Anyone have any idea how I get it to stop when it searches it won't use the wifi its connected to.
It started yesterday. Since then I've tried several backups on a couple different roms, same result. I can connect to my wifi, or at least the phone says I am connected, but no data transfers. I can switch to 3g and I get data normally. I switched to wifi, let it connect, and I get nothing but connection and server errors.
I am having the weirdest problem... I have a work laptop (running Fedora 16) that has connected to my works wifi and ethernet without any problems. I have also connected to the wifi at my girlfriends place without problems. Right now I am at my place and at a total loss for words. I have connected to my home network via wifi and Ethernet... (obviously not both at once).
So I'm currently running Xenon 1.5 (4.2.1) paired with Lean Kernel 5.6, but this is an issues I've had on all 4.2.1 ROMs that I've tried. It seems as though my phone doesn't want to stay connected to WiFi even though it has a strong connection.
It must be a dumb statement - a mobile that is connected to the internet via wifi cannot be a hot spot; only mobile connected with data connection can do it. Just want a confirmation from gurus for a peace of mind.
I have iMac in company connected both lan and wifi, where wifi is for public network & lan is private.
is there any configuration to connect both wifi and lan and setup always use wifi, but make exceptions to some server use lan (e.g. svn, intranet)?
For now, i can just make wifi with higher priority and disable wifi if i need to connect svn.
I am connected to a router by wifi or lan. But every few moments (sometimes seconds, sometimes half an hour) my connection to the internet breaks down. So in one moment I can surf with my firefox and have ping times of 20 ms (wifi) to the google server. And in the next moment I can't open any pages in any browser and the ping shows no new messages first and then "Destination Host Unreachable".
So, generally, just about everyone say wifi off is best to save battery life.. How so? With wifi on (while connected to a connection), your phone doesn't have to strain itself using 1x or 3g or any of that but simply uses the wifi smoothly with ease.. I personally tend to get much better battery life with my wifi on due to all the Facebook and xda and Web browsing I do..
in my hostel there is a wifi connection with no password when i tried to connect it, it says "connected" but it has a notification which says "unidentified network no internet access" i am using win 7 64 bit ultimate. but this wifi is connecting to my mobile successfully.
