Hi everyone,
I tried to install a new printer via the Printer Configuration GUI, but I always got an error message from CUPS saying "There was an error during the CUPS operation: 'cups-authorization-canceled'." I did a little bit of research on that but couldn't figure out how to solve the problem (yes, CUPS is running), so I installed the printer via the http://127.0.0.1:631/ and it
Sorry, my question was ill formulated or incomplete (I edited the first post and title accordingly). I want to access thru system-config-printer gui the printer settings configuration and not by CUPS. How can I reinstall the crunchbang printer pack based on system-config-printer package.Thanks.
Hi all,I have a Canon MP600 printer/scanner connected via USB to a small print- and scan-server running Arch (last update was yesterday). The printer is shared over the network and can be accessed from a Windows 7 client. But from time to time after 1-2 prints the printer crashes. I that happens, only a power disconnect can bring it back.

I've been working on setting up a print server for my home network, it works great! I can print just fine using lpr, and can print from LibreOffice, but cannot print from other KDE applications like Firefox. I went to add a new printer using system-config-printer-kde, but get an error (see attached screenshot for detail) about KCModule not providing an interface.

Using the printer configuration tool, I can connect to the cups server. However, clicking on Settings leads to the following error:

Hi Gordon,Have you installed the printer support?sudo apt-get install cups cups-pdf system-config-printerand you may need to download the driver from Avasys site belowhttp://avasys.jp/eng/linux_driver/if it's now giving you your printer name in the options available.
I do not have a solution to your problem but I would suggest to point a browser to 127.0.0.1:631 and configure CUPS from that. You will inteact directly with CUPS and it is better for debugging. Now can you see your printer from there?
