Astronomers have directly tracked the orbit of an extrasolar planet (exoplanet) for the first time. And, the star about which the exoplanet, Beta Pictoris b, is orbiting is the youngest star known to parent a planet.
In a first-ever discovery, astronomers have detected fierce, supersonic winds on a planet outside of our own Solar System, what is called an extrasolar planet, or exoplanet. In this case, winds of up to 6,200 miles per hour are blowing on the exoplanet HD 209458 b.
A team of U.S. astronomers has discovered a planet that is only a bit more massive than Earth, and they found it in the parent star's habitable zone, so it has the potential of harboring life. This is big news because the exoplanet is the first Earth-like planet found in the so-called Goldilocks Zone.

How about a planet that acts like a comet! The Hubble Space Telescope has found planet HD 209458b. NASA says it is a gas giant that is so close to its star—about 4 million miles away—that its atmosphere is escaping into space so fast that the created winds look like a sweeping tail of a comet.
Astronomers are studying a planet called Corot-9b, which is about 1,500 light years from Earth, that they say will be studied in great detail because it is very similar to our planets in the Solar System. They think it might be reveal a "gold mine" of information.

I am using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. I tried playing videos using VLC player/Movie player, but display is not observed on both the case.
Sound is observed without any issue.
Need help to overcome this.
