While I like the way Thunar looks, and I like the plugins I hate the way that thunar deals with trash. It eats drive space pretty badWhat I did what create a cronjob that emptys my trash everyday at noon:WARNING! This empties your trash everyday without giving you a choice.
I am running Red Hat Enterprise and I've encountered a strange problem. The trash bin on my desktop appears full, full of what looks like the contents of the file system. All of the same folders etc. I cannot empty the trash because I don't have write permissions for this stuff, which makes me wonder how it got there in the first place.
i'm trying to erase files but getting an error : "Trash has reached it's maximum size! Cleanup the trash manually". The only way to erase is by holding the shift button pressed which erases the files without going through the trash.
Today I wondered how to empty the trash bin from CLI (just for fun :D), I googled it and foundrm-rf /home/USER/.local/share/Trash/files/*
rm-rf /home/USER/.local/share/Trash/info/*fine, that works.I have also found something more, a little program called trash-cli. ;)It does more that just emptying the trash, it provides a "mild version of rm command".
I did a stupid thing. I was having issues with certain files in my trash that my system was not allowing my to delete, meaning I could no longer empty my trash. These were not super important files, just theme folders I was creating and ditching.
