Toys R Us to launch Tabeo, a tablet designed for children* - NY Daily News
Toys”R”Us, the toys retailing giant, just announced a tablet computer for kids that will go on sale on October 21 (2012). I did not pay too much attention to the announcement until I began to wonder what a tablet computer for kids that will cost USD $149.99 has to offer?

If having a super-light tablet is important to you, and if you happen to live in Japan, then you’re in luck. Today, NTT DoCoMo launched its NEC Medias Tab UL N08-D tablet in Japan. Compare that to the Kindle Fire HD and Nexus 7 coming in at 400 g and 345 g respectively and you can see just how light this 7″ tablet really is.

It has the distinctive look similar to the Tablet S, featuring the “folded-over” magazine shape, but is now made of metal and is a bit lighter.
Just like the competing manufacturers in the smartphone market, the tablet market seems just as fierce. Recently statistics showed that iPad devices control a whopping 52% of the market share out of all tablets! Keep in mind that there are a lot of other tablet manufacturers that make up the other 48%.
Hi. I talked my kids into wanting the note 10.1 over an ipad but since they are still young I want to be able to control what they can do. Anyone have experience running one of the parent control apps on this tablet? Most of the reviews are based on phones so I'm looking for some direct tablet experience.
These will be our family's first android tablets although I have a galaxy phone.
