Hi fellow Ubuntu users...I have a bit of a strange thing happening on an ASUS EEEPC (Model 1001px). This happens a few times a week but cannot be replicated on demand. Sometimes (typically when opening a website), the mouse pointer on the screen freezes. When this happens, the edges of the touchpad work, but you cannot move the pointer with the touchpad.
Hey im installing Ubuntu, from within windows, for a friend who would like to try it (10.04). However, while his touchpad pointer/click is working great
1. his touchpad scroll is not working.
2.the "touchpad" tab under system>mouse>touchpad is missing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Is it possible to use Windows touchpad driver in Ubuntu? I have a Dell n5110 and the touchpad is not recognized. I cannot use scroll, and most annoying, while typing the pointer usually jumps if the touchpad is touched. I see that there are lots of questions here and on the internet about this issue. Some claim to work, but I tried everything with no results.
Jittery/shakey... I don't know exactly what word to use. English isn't my first language.
But when I keep my finger still on the touchpad, the mouse pointer seems to keep moving rapidly within a tiny square area.
Hello,
I have just upgraded to Ubuntu 11.04 (Gateway NV53u Laptop), with no problems except that I have lost the ability to scroll with my touchpad on my laptop.
Running xinput list shows that there is a PS/2 Mouse and AlpsPS/2 ALPS Glidepoint. Also, going through the Mouse and Pointer Device options, I see touchpad options, which I can fiddle with, but have no visible change.
I've been scouring forums over the interwebs for several months now and I can't seem to find anyone with my problem. I simply do not have the option for "two-finger scrolling" available in my "Mouse and Touchpad" settings. I have tried a lot of terminal commands that I have found in the forums with no success.
I have a Thinkpad which has both a TrackPoint mouse pointer (the little red thing between the G and H keys) and a Synaptics Touchpad.
I don't really like the Touchpad, and in fact keep swiping it accidentally, so I turned it off. But, there's one feature that's really nice: the two-finger scroll gesture.
Is there a way to make it so only this gesture works and all other input is ignored?
I have a new install of Fedora 17 64 bit with KDE on a HP 2000-416DX laptop. After installation, using the touchpad moved the pointer, but the sensitivity was way too low when tapping --- I almost had to punch the touchpad to get it to register taps. I went into System Settings -> Input Devices -> Touchpad and turned the sensitivity up.
Hi,
regarding the touchpad in compaq presario cq42, there is a led at the left upper corner as shown in the picture. When this led is touched in windows 7 it toggle enable touchpad.
