Video (formerly Totem), the official movie player of the GNOME desktop environment based on Gstreamer that features a playlist, a full-screen mode, seek and volume controls, as well as keyboard navigation, is now at version 3.8.2.This is actually the first maintenance release for Video (Totem).
Is anyone having a problem streaming Sirius internet radio after today's updates? I'm hearing little pops and cracks every so often and before I ran the update everything was fine. I believe the only audio software that was updated was gstreamer. I can play audio files in rhythmbox with no problem so I'm not sure what's going on.
When I try playing DVD's in Media Player/Totem the video is choppy and does not sync with the audio. When I started looking at it in detail I see Totem is using up 95% of the CPU which kind of explains it doesn't it. But it still shouldn't be doing this.
I followed the guide for restricted formats and i can play my videos with SMplayer, Xine, VLC etc but not Totem. Totem in 11.3 uses Gstreamer, and i believe i have all gstreamer plugins installed, good, bad, ugly, base etc. Also thumbnails won't show. Reason i want to use Totem? cuz it's integrated well with Gnome
The one thing I've found in Ubuntu is how the default apps are not usually or easily updated. Apps like Rhythmbox and Totem have gotten new releases since 12.04 came out and I was wondering if there's a PPA or anything I can add so I can have Totem and essentially other default apps up to date. Thanks in advance!
I everyone, I've just upgraded Fedora 17 to 18.
Totem doesn't play any video but, every other video player have no problem (gnome player, vlc even xnoise).
The program is not able to find proper codecs with his own.
I've installed a lot of gstreamer packages.
Video (formerly Totem), the official movie player of the GNOME desktop environment based on Gstreamer that features a playlist, a full-screen mode, seek and volume controls, as well as keyboard navigation, is now at version 3.6.3.
This is the third maintenance release in the stable 3.6.x branch and it comes with just a few minor modifications.
if I start videos the Movie Player does pop up but the videofield is black. When I minimize it and unminimize it again the videofield is invisible. When I drag it over the desktop it produces artefacts in the videofield. It doesn't even play mp3.
VLC however does work.
Already tried deleting and reinstalling totem.
Totem is version 3.0.1
GStreamer version is 0.10.36
