Using SuSE 11.2 KDE. Totem is completely mute, regardless of which type of video file I try playing. Have tried Pulse and Alsa. Have tried Xine and gStreamer. Any ideas?
I followed the guide for restricted formats and i can play my videos with SMplayer, Xine, VLC etc but not Totem. Totem in 11.3 uses Gstreamer, and i believe i have all gstreamer plugins installed, good, bad, ugly, base etc. Also thumbnails won't show. Reason i want to use Totem? cuz it's integrated well with Gnome
I'm having trouble playing videos in ubuntu. After upgrading from 13.10 to 14.04 Totem crashes if I move the slider. I am playing a mkv file. It starts playing alright, but if I move the slider totem crashes.
It used to work like a champ in 13.10 so I know the problem is not in the file.
I switched to VLC and it doesn't seem to have the same problem.
Any ideas? Is this a known issue?
I'm running the testing branch of debian with codename Jessie and xfce as desktop environment on a Lenovo ThinkPad T410. When I press the mute-button, it mutes pulse-audio and alsa, but when I press the mute-button again it unmutes pulse-audio but not alsa.
Video (formerly Totem), the official movie player of the GNOME desktop environment based on Gstreamer that features a playlist, a full-screen mode, seek and volume controls, as well as keyboard navigation, is now at version 3.8.2.This is actually the first maintenance release for Video (Totem).
Finally i have audacity working through alsa, but when I click the mute button for the mic it won't mute. So I need to select mic2 which doesn't exist. Version 11.10. What might be wrong?
Let me clarify, the mic won't mute in the Alsa playback screen the red X appears but does not mute the audio of the mic.
