I am using a server with windows server 2008 r2 running on it to run my program. The CPU of the server is Intel xeon x5570 2.93GHz with 2 processors, 8 cores per processer.
However, I found that the cpu usage is almost always below 10% even I use 32 threads in my program.
I am a new person here but I want to make an ssh server in Lubuntu on a pretty old computer.
I know that you can log in multiple ssh clients onto one ssh server computer. However, if you are running tasks logged in physically as a user ("George") on the server, then how will it affect the remote clients' logins to the server?
My question isn't necessarily how to this, I'd really like to know where to start. I've made a program in Java that keeps track of a dart game, I have a core DartGame class and classes for the different games that inherit it, from there it keeps track of players, who's turn it is, the current score, etc.
I was wondering if I could redirect a file to the stdin of a program so that I could actually see the lines of the file as they're being used.
Suppose I have a CLI program with the following flow (in a loop):
A) Computer asks question
B) User answers it
C) Computer responds
Running this interactively yields output (which can be copied and pasted from the terminal) that intermixes user answers w
I am running Ubuntu 12.04. The computer is a new Core i7 3770k running at 4.5GHz.
On occasion, my computer will seem to lock up (no signal to monitor, no power to mouse/keyboard). If I power cycle the computer, everything seems to work again without trouble. The computer is running Folding@home 24/7.
This is a rather embarrassingly newbie question, I think. Our regular IT guy is MIA for a while and I'm next in line, but I have no network experience.
I want to replace a computer that is about to die (hard drive failing) with a new computer using a fresh install of Windows XP (it's what my work uses and they aren't ready to upgrade yet).
Hello everyone.
I am logged into a computer through ssh. I would like to run a program and have it keep running after I log out without screen (i forgot to run it).
For example:
Code:
ssh server
user/comp~$ top &
[1] 12021
exit
after that:
Code:
ssh server
user/comp~$ (something, maybe shell script) 12021
How can I do that except disown solution?

Hello
I don't have much to compare this to, but I have been wondering why my computer is so quiet, and chill, no matter what I through at her.
My Specs.
AMD 6 Core 3.5 GHz Processor
8GB RAM
ASUS M5A97 Motherboard
NVidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti
Corsair H60 Cooler
+4 other fans
Corsair TX650 PSU
Okay so, start up the computer it sounds normal, hear the fans running, but it's not intense.
