Ok, this is a really bizarre problem. I installed Ubuntu 9.10 about a month ago, and everything has worked great. But a couple days ago, the buttons on my wireless usb mouse stopped working. I'd click various things but nothing would happen. Brand new batteries, and I was able to move the cursor.
I have searched every where and either Im the only one having this problem (Not likely) or I just dont know how to word it properly (very likely).
Randomly my AT&T One X+ will start playing all sounds super fast and high pitched, and then like click for a few seconds. So far the only way ive been able to fix it is to reboot the phone.
So I have had mythtv working for a while, then all of a sudden 2 weeks ago the sound stopped working in mythtv. I was able to play sounds with a command line utility, but there was no sound from mythtv.
Well, the subj. Samba stopped working. I used to mount a drive in fstab but now mount produces the following error "Unable to find suitable address." whatever that means.I tried to read the docs and realized that I am missing /etc/samba completely.
I replaced the default system sounds in /usr/share/sounds/ubuntu/stereo folder and some sounds are working well (the login and logout sounds, dialog warning sounds) but sound for emptying trash,minimize window,close window is not working.I named them respectively as
trash-empty.ogg
window-minimized.ogg
-window-close.ogg
will renaming these files help?if yes,what to rename them as?

Hi everybody,
i'm trying to configurate my new linux machine and i'm facing problems with the audio configurations in skype.
I want to map all the sounds to the SPDIF output. This works fine for every other applications except skype.
I set the both outputs call speaker and ring speaker to the default or spdif or pulse and both to the same outputs.
I double click, select run in terminal. terminal pops up and immediately crashes with no explanation. I've run tor this way a million times and it just suddenly stopped working. I haven't made any changes to ubuntu. it just stopped working.
I am totally at a loss.
Just for those that don't know yet. For some reason my internet stopped working for a good hour after switching plans, as did my bros... just a heads up. The cs lady made it pretty clear that tethering will not work on this plan, but will they even know since we don't have a Tmo phone?

I saw that T-Mobile has gone to no contract plans, but there's no sign of the $30 per month plan with 5GB data! Am I missing something, like where to find it on the site? I was planning to switch to that plan when the new Nexus came out so I could get a year on my VM Evo V.
