The other day I put together a barebones build for a high-performance system based around Intel's new six-core "hexacore" i7 980x processor. Some of you asked if it was possible to put two of these monster CPUs on a single board to get more power ... it sure is!
So I have never had any experience with the LGA1366 platform, but I recently acquired a W3680 and some value RAM. From my research, the W3680 is just a 980x with a Xeon sticker on it. I was wanting to buy a motherboard and use the processor and RAM to upgrade my HTPC.
