http://androidforums.com – I just want to know, can the nexus 7 connect to a hotspot at all? I have a virgin mobile HTC one V, and before I pay $15 for hotspot, I want to know if it will work. Someone told me my phone sets up an ad hoc network, and the nexus 7 cannot connect to these. (General)

Just recently bought a Asus Nexus 7 and I find it an awesome device.

Unfortunately, I was surprised to see there is no option to turn my device into a wifi hotspot or to share my nexus internet through USB to other computers.

I'm using 12.10 on a Samsung Q45 laptop and cannot connect to one specific wifi hotspot where I work. This is the only hotspot that I cannot connect to. Every other hotspot I can connect to without any problem. If I use my Win7 Pro (64bit) laptop with my work hotspot then it connects immediately. Nobody else (they all use windows) has any problems connecting to the work hotspot.

I created the wifi hotspot via "Create new wireless network" from the network connections menu.

I hope wifi hotspot issue, my LT15i is flash with CM7.2, the wifi hotspot connection with my laptop and ipad keep dropping if my phone is on battery, however if I connect the charger, everything works just fine for hours. I've tried different version of CM7.2 but still the same. Can anyone please help?
