I was setting this phone up to give away (for free) to someone as their first smartphone. But a bad charging port fried the phone. Does anyone have a phone to donate? I would take a complete phone or just a motherboard... or even a broken phone to salvage the motherboard from. Right now eBay doesn't have any that look like they would be usable (they don't power up).

The prices for the AMD-CPUs are so low, I would like to set up a new box - but with a motherboard fully supported.

Does everything wipes out when new motherboard is replaced with new one ? (pictures, games, kernel)
My motherboard died, it was an EMachine and this seams to be a typical problem with them. I'm not sure if I should replace the motherboard or just by something better.

So a few months ago my Captivate took a turn for the worst and got stuck in boot loops. I was able to flash with some non stock stuff but my conclusion was the internal memory was messed up. So I replaced the motherboard (only $30 so worth a shot).
All seems to have gone well except now my screen is very red and the color contrast is kinda poor. Anyone have any tips?

My screen is cracked. And a friend wants to sell me his galaxy s3 (perfect screen but bricked) for cheap. Would it be possible to simply take the motherboard from my phone, and put it in the other phone? Or would me having a custom rom and recovery, mess up with other parts of the phone? I wouldn't think so, since all the main chips seem to be on the motherboard.
