How do I disable location services and other permissions from certain apps? Not turn it off completely but just disable certain apps from accessing these permissions?
Is it possible to completely remove the GPS (not just the icon) or is this impossible without bricking?
I assume that any apps which require fine or coarse location permissions from the GPS will then not be able to function?
Do you think I can disable the GPS by deleting this file?
I have an Android 4.2 device and would like to know if there is any way I can easily get a summary of which permissions are given to which apps - via PC software, an app, whatever. (When you install an app, you are shown the list of permissions - "Network communication", phone calls, location, etc. - that the app wants.
I have a rooted Samsung galaxy S2 with Cyanogemod 9.
I am looking for an app who can restrict other apps from accessing to the gps and localisations services. I should be able to choose which can and which cannot.
Ideally, the app I am looking for should give this response to the apps accessing : "GPS/Localisation services are not activated in this device".
Just to make sure,
When installing a app (after confirm its permissions) - the persmissions like "contact", "calls", etc (all kind of permissions) - are disabled to the dev once I delete the app or he always have access to my info (at permissions) OR at the time I've download the app he have access to the permissions until I delete it and all the permissions are disable?
I noticed that with the DU rom I can modify app permissions. I did on google play services because it was waking my phone a lot and I don't know why (I'll switch it back if something quits working). Does anyone modify them and what do you usually remove permission on? I've been going in and turning off location for some apps that I never need locations in.
If I disable Location History and keep Location Reporting enabled, will Google still save the Locations I've been to? I am purchasing an Android phone for the first time and I am quite paranoid about security.
If I use plain GPS and not Google Location Services, will I be missing anything?
Is using Google Maps on Android secure, or should I use any alternate apps.
