How do I disable location services and other permissions from certain apps? Not turn it off completely but just disable certain apps from accessing these permissions?
Is it possible to completely remove the GPS (not just the icon) or is this impossible without bricking?
I assume that any apps which require fine or coarse location permissions from the GPS will then not be able to function?
Do you think I can disable the GPS by deleting this file?
I have an Android 4.2 device and would like to know if there is any way I can easily get a summary of which permissions are given to which apps - via PC software, an app, whatever. (When you install an app, you are shown the list of permissions - "Network communication", phone calls, location, etc. - that the app wants.
I have a rooted Samsung galaxy S2 with Cyanogemod 9.
I am looking for an app who can restrict other apps from accessing to the gps and localisations services. I should be able to choose which can and which cannot.
Ideally, the app I am looking for should give this response to the apps accessing : "GPS/Localisation services are not activated in this device".
Hi, first time note user and LOVING the GN3. A day or two ago I opened up Google Now and agreed to the permissions of location and Web searches. Since then Google Services are 2nd in my battery usage. I have gone back into Google Now settings and disabled it but the Google Services is still 2nd in the list.
Does anyone have any recommendations for apps that help the user manage permissions? I've heard good deal about Permissions Denied but it seems recently the free version was taken down and the price pumped up. I'm not sure of the story behind that so I am a bit weary. I've also seen a bit about LBE Privacy but the fact that it is closed source can be unsettling.
When you start messing about with custom ROMs, apps and whatnot, you come across setting permissions. It's usually the r-shaped one, but sometimes not. Can I just give (whatever) full/all permissions (clicking all the boxes)?
