So I just got home from work and went to watch something on the frontend in the lounge room but the frontend reported it wasn't there. I then noticed that some other shows I know have recorded are shown as not being there either.A check shows all shows not there.
Hi everyone. I having a hard time trying to get the frontend of mythtv in 12.04 to connect to the backend. The frontend continues to restart all the time. How do connect the two ends together? I want to use the backend to record the tv shows and the frontend to watch them. Unfortunately, i can't get into the frontend. The backend is on a 32 bit machine and the frontend is on a x64 box.

Currently, I am running a mythbuntu combined frontend and backend system. The version is 12.04.1 LTS. The desktop is kfce 4.8. The PC is an AMD 64 X2 4400. The mobo is Asus A8V with 2 gigs of RAM.
The second frontend will be an XBMC, which is already running. All devices are on the same network.
I have mythtv backend/frontend with ceton tuner working fine. I want to compile/install a frontend only on some of my atom based PC's. I download the Mythtv .25 tar ball and I was wondering how to compile with out mysql, xmltv and just basic frontend functionality. example: ./configure --disable-mysql --disable-xmltv ?
Having trouble with a new mythbuntu install as frontend and backend. I believe I have the backend setup correctly. I've configured a HDHomeRun Prime and successfully scanned for and added channels. However, when I select watch tv on the frontend, the screen only flashes a "please wait" for a split second before returning to the menu.
Hi All,
I am researching frontend sleep/wake with the intention of implementing the functions.
My system is:
Linux Frontemd-L 3.2.0-39-generic-pae #62-Ubuntu SMP Wed Feb 27 22:25:11 UTC 2013 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
MythBuntu 12.04, MythTV 0.26.
Reading http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/Putting_m...ntend_to_sleep and http://forums.overclockers.com.au/sh...d.php?t=810214 both refer to "cat /proc/ac
I don't update my mythtv system all that often because something usually breaks! I had 414 updates pending so went for it and now the backend will not start.
There was a crash report which popped up after the system restarted which mentioned something about 0.25.fixes..... failed to install...
Hi, just want to report on some experiences and to see if anyone else has experienced similar.
i upgraded from 11.04 to 12.04 LTS about a month or so ago. the system i use is mainly for a htpc, so lots of storage ~10TB, not much cpu (2.8Ghz intel 775) and 4gb ram.
