The European take-out wars continue to heat up. This time it’s the turn of Russia’s Delivery Club to receive an injection of cash, raising a $4 million second round of funding from existing investor, Addventure.
European online footwear and bag retailer, Spartoo — the ‘Zappos of Europe’ — has raised €25 million ($32.5 million) in Series C funding led by Belgian investment holding company Sofina. Existing investors A Plus Finance, CM-CIC Capital Privé, Highland Partners and Endeavour Vision also participated in the round.
Online customer service company Zendesk has raised $60 million in new financing led by Redpoint Ventures with participation by Index Ventures, GGV Capital, Goldman Sachs, Silicon Valley Bank, Charles River Ventures, Benchmark Capital and Matrix Partners. We’re told the round was $45 million in equity, and $15 million in a credit facility.
Video management startup Kaltura is growing fast, but it’s looking to expand even more, and has raised even more money to do so. The company has closed a $25 million Series D round of funding, which includes money from new investors Mitsui Global Investment and Orix Ventures.
Masabi, which develops and deploys mobile ticketing technology for the transport sector, has raised a further $2.8 million in a new round of funding from Detroit-based Fontinalis Partners, along with London-based MMC Ventures and existing investor m8 Capital.
The new capital will be used by the UK company to “accelerate” transit agency deployments in the U.S.
Hot on the heels of funding wins for Handybook and PeoplePerHour, another investment in an online labour booking company this month: Intel Capital is leading a $4 million Series A funding round into Russia’s Eruditor Group, an online marketplaces provider for freelancers and businesses in sectors including healthcare, beauty, sports and tutoring. Runa Capital is also investing in the round.
MobiCart, the mobile commerce startup that makes it easy to build and manage a storefront natively for iOS and Android or as a HTML5 app, has raised a further £300k (approx. $500k).
MoPub, the Accel-backed mobile advertising startup founded by ex-AdMob and Google employees, is today announcing a $12 million round of Series B funding, which the company says will be used for hiring and international expansion, putting folks on the ground in Europe, Japan, Korea, and elsewhere in the Asia-Pacific region.
