I'm curious if anyone has had success with running Ubuntu or Debian on the latest Ultrabooks. Specifically, the Acer Aspire s3 or the Asus Zenbook?
I have had an Asus UL30a since they came out, but since the latest dist-upgrade landed linux-3 on my system, suspend/resume when on battery just dies. Works fine when plugged in so I assume it's trying to "Hibernate" when on battery.
Hello,
I know there have prob been loads of posts on this.
I got my S3 the other day, awesome phone but concerned with the battery.
I have wifi, mobile data, bluetooth off. Screen brightness low and auto off. Power saving on. I have juice defender on and no facebook or anything like that.
Since i took the phone off charge this morning at 6 (2.75 hours ago) the battery has gone down to 90%.
I've got a HP Envy M6 1178ea notebook which has a battery life of about 6 hours when running on Windows 8. I recently installed Ubuntu 12.10 (quantal) 64-bit and the indicator shows a battery life of just 2 hours when fully charged. Moreover, the fan keeps running continuously, which is pretty annoying. Is there a way to fix it?
Intel quietly unveiled three new entries in its & Sandy Bridge& line of Core processors, each with a TDP of just 17 Watts. They're the 1.8GHz Core i7-2677M, the 1.7GHz Core i7-2637M, and the 1.7GHz Core i5-2557M, according to the company....
So, this may be answered because of what I'm observing, but I'm curious to see what other people think.
Normally, I get excellent (>12 hours) battery life on stock rom. I have it rooted, but I've done nothing else with it. However, over the past month or so during the week my battery would go from 100% to dead in less than 6 hours with almost 0 use whatsoever.
I have my Asus U46e with an Intel coreI-5, 8GB ram running Ubuntu 12.04. Since installing I see that I am getting approximately 4 hours battery life and my brightness settings will not save. I was curious to find out whether I could extend the battery life on my laptop by tweaking the system.
First, here's the constants: I keep wifi/BT/GPS on 100% of the time. This was true when battery life was good, and now that battery life is bad. Disabling these will improve battery life, but will not fix my problem.
When the phone is sleeping overnight, I used to get 8-12% battery usage over about 8 hours.
Hello,
Releases wiki article talks about "support" and "End of life date". I would like to clarify what exactly is meant by those terms. It looks like those terms mean the same, or "End of life" equals "End of support".
Hi everyone,
I recently got the galaxy s4 with t-mobile, and I am loving it! Except, I am not quite sure if my battery life is normal. I have been reading a lot of different posts where people claim to get at least 11 to 12 hours of the phone, and up to 3-4 hours of actual screen time.
I have been testing out my battery, I uncharge usually in 9 am then I use it until the battery reaches 2%.
