scored an IBM Thinkpad X60s a few days ago @ the salvation army. $25.00...! it was sitting open on the counter, unable to load past the bios. "there.s something wrong with it," the cashier explained. i thought to myself, 'wow, i bet it.s nothing a little #!
I didn't notice it before i installed compiz fusion, but perhaps it was happening then as well because i didn't play with fedora too much, but -- my problem is that after i open a few windows and a few minutes pass the entire system bogs down to what seems like 1 frame per 20sec. i can't even forcequit out of applications, and if i do it doesn't solve the problem.
Anytime i try to run the Gnome Tweak Tool I get the following Traceback.. I can't figure out how to fix it/ It started after i migrated from fedora 15 to 16 and upgrading to fedora 17 hasn't changed anything.
Hello all. A few days ago, I noticed that the Dash in Ubuntu 12.04 is not getting any applications I ask it to. For instance, I'll open the Dash by hitting the Windows key. I'll try to search for "Firefox", but it lists Files and Folders. I'll even trying going into the Applications menu, but no applications are being listed.
I am facing a problem related to corrupted gtk theme for certain applications. My default theme is Ambiance under Unity. It works fine for most applications like Chrome, Firefox, Nautilus, etc. However, for certain applications such Gnome tweak tool, Ubuntu Tweak, etc. the gtk theme is completely black and dark.
I'm experiencing some problems with Ubuntu Gnome Remix 12.10 64bits.
My gnome-tweak-tool doesn't apply themes properly. For the gkt themes, I noted that they are not fully applied. For example, I select Elementary's gtk theme and the window's border (metacity?) still with Adwaita. The theme also looks weird, what led me to believe that there was some engine missing, but that wasn't the case.
Hi Ubuntu users,
As someone accustomed to the thinkpad laptop keyboards I recently purchased Lenovo's ThinkPad USB Keyboard with TrackPoint (UK English). The device is plugged into my work machine which is a Dell Desktop.
All the key-mappings appear fine at the login screen.
Hi all,
I need help flashing my BIOS on my IBM ThinkPad 1858 W19 R52. I got this laptop from a friend of mine, and instead of using the original hard drive that came with the IBM Thinkpad, I took my hard drive out of my other laptop and replaced it in the thinkpad.
