I have an aggregate site on a linux server that pulls in feeds from a universe of about 2,000 blogs. It's in Wordpress 3.4.2 and I have a cron job that is staggered to run five times an hour on another server to pull in the stories and then publish them to the front page of this site. This is so I didn't put too much pressure all on one server.

These are fun and social Ubuntu Meetups. There was a good turnout for the May Ubuntu Hour. Lets see if we can keep that up and build on it!!

This time last year marked the debut of Nextdoor, a site that allows people to build private online social networks for their local neighborhoods.
The startup has a very noble aim — bringing people who live in real-life communities closer together — but at its launch, many people were a bit skeptical. Would people really want to sign up for yet another social network?
So, this may be answered because of what I'm observing, but I'm curious to see what other people think.
Normally, I get excellent (>12 hours) battery life on stock rom. I have it rooted, but I've done nothing else with it. However, over the past month or so during the week my battery would go from 100% to dead in less than 6 hours with almost 0 use whatsoever.

I'm using 12.04 with Gnome Classic.
I wanted the clock on the right of my top panel to display time in the 24-hour format.
When I checked Date and Time under System Settings, it showed 24-hour, but that hadn't had any effect, since I still had an am-pm clock.
I found this (http://www.bitsbythepound.com/use-a-...buntu-352.html) and followed it.
Now I had 24-hour time, but other changes

How to allow user to access system only 1 hour in day using PAM?
For example I wish to give access to a user only for 1hr on a workstation in 24hrs. First the 24hr time period needs to be defined, as fixed time period like 00:00:00 to 23:59:59 or the time period should be counted from the time the user first logs in. One must also consider the possibility if the user logs in for 3 minutes.
