I have a Asus hd monitor plugged into my nvidia card and a monitor plugged into my intel graphics card. I have this setup because the second monitor is an older apple cinema plasma display with a dvi interface. It's interface will not fit next to my Asus monitor on the gpu. In windows I can get a dual monitor setup no problem. My motherboard is a Z68 Gigabyte.
Graphics Card: NVidia 460 GTX.
Driver: NVIDIA accelerated graphics driver (version current)
I have one DVI monitor, an old Dell LCD from 2005, and one VGA monitor, an Asus ML238H from 2010 whose HDMI port broke. The Asus is plugged into my graphics card's primary monitor slot and is the better monitor even though it is VGA but my computer defaults to the Dell.
I switched from the default driver to fglrx recently so a certain app would stop crashing. After a while I got my dual monitor system to work, except the right monitor (Acer) shows the whole desktop shunken about 90%. There's an unused margin of an inch or so all around.
Both monitors are 23", identical for functional purposes but different brands.
I just bought an Intel Atom D410PT motherboard, and installed it into a mini-ITX case. So far, everything works as expected, but the resolution is lower than it should be.
In Displays, I found that it detects two monitors, one Laptop monitor and the desktop one that I plugged into a the machine.
This is not specifically Arch related, but maybe someone can help me with this anyway...My problem is that when I boot up with both monitors plugged in, the BIOS uses the VGA one as primary, then in any OS I can't detect the second monitor hanging on the DVI port in any way, it seems that its like "invisible", like it hasn't been activated by the BIOS or something...When I boot
Hi all. I was wondering if there is any way to automatically extend my display using xorg or xrandr based on whether a monitor is plugged in or not. The use case is as follows: I have a laptop and monitor, but I don't always have my laptop plugged into my monitor. I want to extend the display when its plugged in, but fallback to only the laptop's screen when it
When I originally plugged in the second monitor into my laptop, I had no issues. However, the Grid setting in CompizConfig Settings Manager was bothering me when I tried to move windows between the two screens, so I disabled it. I then tried to enable to cube.
