I tried installing Ubuntu 12.04 server on my laptop using a USB stick !!
When it reached the base system installation I received this error !
Debootstrap warning
warning: file:///cdrom/portal/main/t/tzdata/tzdata_2012b-1_all.deb was corrupt
then it sends me back to the menu where I can choose either to install the base system again or proceed without installin
I force text mode to install FC17. This will install only base packages for a minimal system and
boot up the system in runlevel 3 so no graphical login screen. There is pre configured partition table (gpt partitions) that text mode would wipe out and writes it's own.
At present I have a dual boot system with Windows 7 and Fedora 14. I want to re-install windows 7 but most probably it will replace Fedora's boot loader. I have a lot of things set up on Fedora. I want to keep these things intact.
Hello,
What is the simplest way to install CentOS 6.1 with console base-system only using official LiveDVD image on VirtualBox machine? I'd like to get simplest console with network support like FreeBSD base installation. Then, install services which I need.
The installer jest extracts the LiveCD image to hard drive.
Hi everyone.
Yesterday I tried to install Fedora 12 on my PS3 with the Fedora12 PPC dvd.
The problem is that the installation process never asked me which package I want install. It just installed the minimal system. After the installation, I just can use my Fedora with command line.
I'll explain my situation and what I've done to try to fix it.

We're just starting to experiment with Fedora 18, and we want to see if it will work on our servers. These do support graphical installs, but we configure them so that they boot into text mode when the OS installation is finished. What is the recommended method of specifying, during the Fedora 18 installation, that the computer should boot into text mode when the install is finished?
My approach is to install Fedora 15 on to a virtual machine. The host is
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS , text mode.
The problem is that fedora do switch to graphic mode during the install, and I'm stuck.
