One complaint I’ve heard quite a few times about Google’s Chromebook is that it won’t be attractive to consumers (as opposed to enterprise) because it’ll mean people are back to Flash-based games rather than the ‘games as apps’ model that Apple has created. Not true, and to back up my point, here’s exhibit A.
Google is announcing a new $249 Chromebook manufactured by Samsung, which you’ll be able to order starting next week (at least, that’s the official launch date, although some vendors may start taking preorders before then).

As with all Chromebooks, that may mean nothing to you if you don’t like ChromeOS, but there can be little doubt that the Pixel is a beautiful piece of precision engineering that feels like a premium laptop that wouldn’t be out of place in any line-up of $1,000+ laptops.
Last month when Google announced the new Chromebook Pixel, they promised an LTE equipped model would be available in April. Google is on track to live up to that promise as they have updated the Play Store order page for the top of the line Pixel laptop. Priced at $1,449 for the LTE version, Google indicates units will ship by April 8th.
