I would like to install VMware vSphere Hypervisor 5 on my server here at home and run a view machines on it such as Windows Server 2008 and Red Hat.
I was in the market for a new Laptop, given that mine is at least 3 years old and starting to show its age with non-working USB ports, one blown power supply, and failing batteries. My requirements are slightly above the average:

Updated vsphere 5 to 5.1. The upgraded to Ubuntu server 12.04 from 11.10. Ubuntu was working just fine. One week later, then VMware vsphere tech helped us install the vmware tools 5.1 - now reading disk is full - but it is not. sudo apt-get clean does nothing. Removing files does nothing. The Ubuntu server is unusable - disk usage analyzer stats are impossible.
VMWare hypervisor minimum requirements states that the minimum network requirements is:
one NIC, plus one for Management interface

It used to be possible to use 1 NIC only.
I have installed VMWare ESXi 5.1 on a Whitebox recently to use it as a home lab, even though I have a very little knowledge about VMware ESXi and vSphere, but I found that it is most suitable virtualization platform for my lab.
