I have got some source and object files of a C language based unix program. I need to compile those in my pc. I am only experienced with Microsoft Visual studio. I have never worked in Linux. Will it be still wiser to get linux installed in my pc and then run it with GNU? or it will be easier for me(since I am used to) to do it under microsoft visual studio in windows?
In Visual Studio 2013, by default, it seems to use a 32-bit compiler and 32-bit linker. Note that I mean they are 32-bit executables themselves, not that they produce 32-bit output. Since I'm building a very large project, the 32-bit linker runs out of address space and takes forever to finish.
Is there a way to force Visual Studio 2013 to always use a 64-bit toolchain?
