In Nautilus you can sort files manually only in the icon view (and the arrangement is a mess). My question is: is there a file manager with which you can sort files manually as in Windows? i.e., manually to arrange in list view, or manually to arrange in icon view without disturbing the lines.
If not, Can I manually sort my files from the terminal?
Thanks in advance, and sorry for my english.
Hi, I recently switched to xubuntu from ubuntu and am loving it.
My only gripe is with the file manager arrange icons. In ubuntu, I think it is called nautilus, allowed me to arrange icons in one folder one way, and then in another folder another way. For example by name in music.
In fact, it doesn't really have any options at all, just plain list view with a small viewing panel to the right, and considering this is what's used 99% of the time when you want to open a file, that sort of tanks the entire OS.
Hello. I have a newbie question. I use OpenBox window manager under FC 11. I need to figure out how to connect to an AP manually via ifconfig or some other means (I.E. w/o the use of a GUI). It's not a particularly techie situation it's an open system so there's no encryption to mess with. thank you!
Up until recently, I tried to stay away from installing stuff manually from tars on my Fedora 16 but the experience I had with Tomcat 7 out of the yum repo changed that. The app was littered with config errors as it came out of the repository.
Hi,
I am new to these forums, and happy to be here!
Here's my issue relating to WhatsApp:
When I was using WhatsApp on my BlackBerry, I used to refresh the contact list and the new contacts would be added to the bottom of the list and then I could sort the list manually using the "Sort" button in the WhatsApp settings.
I didn't know what to do wtih the cd option first time I launched it in crunchbang linux a few days ago. Just started using this operating system a few days ago since my quad core win7 computer has been in the shop for almost a week. Well, now my cd is set to ignore and I cant figure out how to launch it manually or view what's in it.
Hello,
I am wondering if Fedora does keep any records of files and/or directories on CDs/DVDs that have been previously inserted. I have inserted a couple of CDs but did not browse them using any file manager (nautilus). Just inserted disk and connected CD mechanic to vmware. Now I would like to see if I copied all the files without manually chceking it.
Nautilus file manager is being completely revamped.
