Is there an easy way of installing madwifi drivers in Fedora 17?

http://unix.stackexchange.com – Long time ago you could easily install madwifi drivers for atheros wireless cards as they were found in the livna (or RPM fusion?) repositories. Today I cannot find any guide or even mentions when googling it. Am I missing something? (HowTos)

I am among those unfortunate wretches with an Atheros wireless card (ar5001) and I've had problems with it from the day I installed Ubuntu. I've been using Madwifi to connect to the internet, and it's worked fine, until I lately changed my internet connection, got a new modem etc.

i have a old thinkpad 390e with xubuntu im trying to get a netgear wpn511 to work on it. i tried to go to madwifi.com and every like i try i get some form of fobidden even on my netbook (using linkssys usb till i can figure out wireless card.

RPM Fusion and Livna.org are common third party package repositories for Fedora. You need them if you want to install media players, codecs and/or DVD playback libraries that are not part of the primary Fedora repository because of assumed issues like distribution licensing or similar.

Thus my question how to enable them in Fedora (>= 17)?

hi , I am trying to install atheros AR5007EG on my toshiba laptop -i figured out that best way to install this wireless card is through madwifi -while configuring madwifi i get this error

I have searched for this for some time...And although I found a post looking for wireless cards that are supported (which answers only redirect to the forum list), it wasn't as specific as my enquiry. I want to know if there is/are any wireless cards or manufacturers that offer native drivers of any kind. I don't want to use ndiswrapper or any of that junk just to use the internet.

Hi: I'm using ubuntu 9.10 with kernel 2.6.31-16-generic. Since I installed this version I've been trying to install the madwifi drivers. I'm perfectly able to use the open source ath5k drivers, but I really prefer using madwifi, as they allow me to use my network interface as an access point and injects packages in a more efficient way.

For all the people that have an AR2425 based Atheros card (e.g. AR5007EG), it has been a lot of time without knowing with which driver it should work correctly.

I bought a Samsung N310 laptop recently and loaded it with Karmic. My problem now is that my wifi adaptor can't be detected.

I know that the N310 comes with an Atheros wireless chip, but I can't, for the life of me, find out which specific chip model it is.
