I am looking at new laptops and before buying wanted to know which of the graphics cards from below are best supported by Ubuntu.
I saw these laptops at the Ubuntu website.
http://www.ubuntu.com/certification/...ategory=Laptop
It says here that these laptops are certified by Ubuntu. It says that these laptops are certified. Particularly I am looking at the laptops with hybrid graphics, but how sure am I that these laptops will run well under Ubuntu? Is the driver pre-installed?

Good morning all Dell XPS 15'ers,
I have skipped the last few versions of Ubuntu due to ongoing issues with this laptop model. This morning I took the plunge and installed Raring, however the same issues remain.

Hi
Decided to start a thread to list some of the laptops that have nvidia optimus in them and get it to run with Ubuntu (or other variants) with Bumblebee or Ironhide or other solutions that exist out there.
Basically I'm curious about the Ubuntu laptop users' answers to the following questions:
1) What kind of laptops do you use and with what NVIDIA video card?
Hi
I am considering buying one of the laptops Dell is offering for sale with Ubuntu pre installed.
I currently use Ubuntu on a Macbook Pro that belongs to my work, which will have to go back to my work soon as I am changing jobs!
New to Ubuntu and trying to get my wireless capabilities up and running. I didnt find my TEW-645UB usb wireless adapter on the list of supported ones, so I guess there is no way for me to get online with my desktop.
I bought a dell inspiron n5110 hoping that i'll be able to use it fine with Linux. However I couldn't install the video card drivers and in 8 months the motherboard burned because the power management wasn't right and it was overheating.
I want to buy a workstation PC that will work good with Ubuntu.
I have an hp pavilion dv7 with a Radeon HD4200 graphic card. When I try to upgrade i get this message -Your graphics hardware may not be fully supported in Ubuntu 12.10.
Running the 'unity' desktop environment is not fully supported by your graphics hardware. You will maybe end up in a very slow environment after the upgrade. Our advice is to keep the LTS version for now.
