Experts, say for example that i have 3 terminals (gnome-terminals open for example or xterm) open and i would like to group them toghether to send commands to all of them at the same time while typing on 1 single terminal, and latter on, un-group those terminals if i need to issue 1 command in a particular terminal. Is there any terminal application that could provide this capability?
I'd like to have the same keyboard shortcuts in all the terminals I use. Since they don't have the same *nix on them, and since terminals can be very different, I'm looking for a reasonably portable way to get keyboard shortcuts from one *nix terminal (at least supported by a standard Ubuntu 12.04 installation) to other terminals (Bash only).
I'm trialing a ubuntu server 12.04 LTS to replace a Windows Server that I use but I have got a little stuck with SSH
I'm currently able to SSH into the server but I need to have multiple persistent SSH connections as I have at least 3 applications that need to run in the server and still be able to access their terminals to issue commands to the applications.
This problem appears from at least 11.04 till at least 12.04.
Usually if you want to open one of six virtual terminals, you press hotkeys Ctrl+Alt+F[1-6] (or Ctrl+Alt+F7 to go back to X).
But I have a problem on every build I've tested that virtual terminals which are opened with Alt+F[1-6] (Ctrl is not used).
Hi all,
When using ctrl+alt+fn to go to the virtual terminals, I find a blank screen. The terminals work, as I can log in and do stuff blindly, like creating files. Only the graphical mode (ctrl+alt+f7) works.
During the splash session, the vts are available and readable, only when I choose a desktop environment they turn to blank.
Hi,
I upgraded to Ubuntu 9.10 not too long ago now, and I'm getting annoyed by how many hoops I have to jump through to do simple stuff, like change the background on GDM.
I wonder if it is possible to get the currently connected terminals to each Android Wi-Fi scan result?
Terminator is a cool application (oh! the movie is cool too) for managing multiple terminals in efficient way.
