Telstra predicts iPad boost to prepaid Next G

Telstra's new Next G prepaid wireless plans come with 1GB free upfront, plus up to six months expiry on recharges -- can anyone say "perfect for Apple iPad?"

Telstra and Optus confirm their respective iPad microSIM prepaid broadband starter kits will go on sale days ahead of the iPad’s launch this Friday.

Telstra and Microsoft will jointly launch Windows Phone 7 on October 12, to be followed by at least one Android-based tablet from Telstra which iTWire confidently predicts will be the Huawei SmaKit S7. In addition, Telstra today unveiled a clutch of new mobile devices to be launched in the run up to Christmas.

Telstra wants to tempt the many pre-paid mobile broadband users, some of whom are experiencing dial-up speeds in heavily populated areas on competing networks, with a new “Telstra Turbo” Next G USB modem and affordable no-contract pre-paid per gigabyte pricing, although naturally still at higher prices than the competition.

Telstra reveals its prepaid Next G plans for Apple's 3G iPad, spanning from $20 for 1GB to $100 for 12GB, all with 30 day expiry.

Been searching for days to get a solution to this for a friend. They want to switch from Win 7 to Ubuntu, but can't because we can't get the Telstra Turbo prepaid mobile broadband modem to connect.

All I can find is posts from people asking how to do it with no solution or posts saying "it works out of the box" - which it doesn't in our case.

Does anyone know how to make this USB

Those Next G prices for iPad sure are sweet; just don't get too used to them -- Telstra will use measures to ensure only your iPad gets a good deal.
