Chinese telecoms vendor ZTE has just announced introduction of "the world's fastest 3G USB modem in Greece," but it performs no better than the Telstra Ultimate modem from Sierra Wireless that has been on sale in Australia for the past six months.
Is there any way I can get a router (Netgear WNR3500v2) to connect wirelessly with a DSL modem (Zyxel C1000Z) which also has wireless connectivity, so that I can ultimately access my Internet connection through the router?
I use century link as provider. I can connect to ubuntu with out turning router on,, Why? I am concerned about privacy issues! Where or what am I connecting to? Using Dell laptop with wireless modem. Wireless connection not linked to modem because power to that modem in off. I live in apt complex where a linux connection registers as poor but does not indicate I am connected.
i just got a USB-modem Huawei E392. I am running Ubuntu 12.04. When i plug the usb modem into my laptop nothing happens. It is detected as GSM Modem/Networkcard, when i run the "lsusb" command in a terminal. It is shown in Network connections as HUAWEI-E5172-ACA4, under the wireless tab. But i'm not shure if it is my usb-modem.
