im new to this whole rooting process but from the few of the stuff that i read, it seems to be beneficial so i am going to try to root my Inspire when i get home. maybe a dumb question from a noob so take it easy on me. so when you're phone is rooted and you have you're tethering on does that eat up your data consumption as i don't have unlimited data plan until i switch to T-mobile from ATT.
Well, after updating to Jellybean on my Maxx and losing FoxFi, I was looking for an alternative. Being averse to rooting for fear of bricking my phone, I finally took the plunge and went ahead and did it. And much to my surprise, it couldn't have been easier to root.

I have an Eye-Fi card for my camera. i can set it up to offload images from my camera to my home PC over a WiFi hotspot.
So I can use it with built-in tethering, but it will relay all those pics over my mobile data plan- not ideal.
BUT I might be somewhere with WiFi Access.
Hello,
I want to root my Virgin Mobile HTC Evo 3D 4G so I can delete Facebook and Google + because they run down the battery more than any app I have and I dont even use them. Ive seen threads for people rooting to gingerbread 2.3 and such but I believe I have 4.0 Why do people like to root to an older android system? Do they have the same apps or are they not capable?
