What is good free and low cost software/apps I can use to sync calendar, music, photos, contaxts [is there anything else to sync?] with my Android and Mac?
Can syncing go both ways?
I would like to auto sync the gmail and calendar apps, only when they start.
I am having a Galaxy SII (use the Gmail app and the Samsung Calendar app sync with goog), and I am relatively noob about Android.
I don't wan to receive constantly my e-mails, it would drive my crazy if my phone would notifie me every 10 minutes.

I've been having a problem lately. Ever since my Sony Xperia Z updated to Android 4.3, I've been having a problem with google sync. I have it set to only sync my Gmail. For some reason, every couple weeks I've been getting a sync error, and when I look at it, it's because the sync has automatically checked Google+, photos and calendar without my permission.
So all this syncing was confusing me, but i finally got my music on my phone. However at first on my phone, i clicked the sync now button, and it synced, but not my music. I checked my photo galleries and stuff, nothing synced. All I have on for syncing options in my HTC Sync Manager on my computer is Music, everything else I have selected off.
Hi. I have a Nexus 5 phone and Asus tf300 Android tablet. On these I use Google Calendar from my Google account. At home I use MS Outlook 2007 Calendar on my PC. I then use Google Calendar Sync to sync my Outlook calendar with my Google calendar.

Tried sync mate but the phone is not supported.

I only want to sync contacts (no big problems so far) and ical ( 2 or 3 seperate calanders)
