My Synaptics Touchpad v7.4 won't move when I'm using my arrow keys. I've looked everywhere on the internet telling me to go to:
Device Pointer Properties
(from there...) Settings
Pointing
Sensitivity
Then adjust Palm Check, but Palm Check isn't there and it isn't anywhere else. I've also read about going to something called "Smart Sense" but I didn't see that either.
I'm using (K)ubuntu 12.04 LTS with a Synaptics touchpad. The palm sensitivity it terrible, whenever I'm typing the mouse suddenly jerks off to a different place. Is there a way to enable/increase palm sensitivity?
I wonder if it is possible to use a fallback driver for a synaptics touchpad instead of the synaptics driver. I have a weird problem with my touchpad (Acer TravelMate 6292), and I want to check this option out.
Under Windows (XP, Vista, 7)the generic driver works, while the synaptics driver freezes the system. I would like to try out whether the same holds under linux.
i updated the system completely. formatted everything old - now is a fresh system. i am really sure this time i did not consciously hit anything bad, but unfortunately i cannot scroll with my synaptic touchpad. i can point and navigate, but scrolling is not working.
This is a part of my Xorg log, there's something wrong with my driver. It say "No input driver specified, ignoring this device.
I got problem with my synaptics touchpad under LTS kernel. Multitouch is not working, my current configuration is:scrolling with two fingersthree fingers emulates right button.I rather use LTS kernel than kernel26 because my notebook is almost overheating under newest kernel.

;)Have seen a number of threads regarding disabling synaptics touchpads on laptops, Tried several of the suggestions but they didn't work for me.
I have one Kubuntu computer running 11.10, after the updates a few days ago my synaptics touchpad died, it simply refuses to run, I am sure its a software thing because it works if I use a LiveCD.
Keyboard is working perfect, I can login, open a terminal and use my computer but would be nice to make the touchpad run again.
Anyone can guide me on where to find information and how to enable my tou
