http://forums.opensuse.org – One strange and little annoying issue I notice with my openSUSE 11.3 installation is my Synaptic touchpad behaves way too strange.... Dragging a window or icon - half way around - a click is generated (probably a middle click I guess) and I need to re-drag it again.... In the browser when I try to select a text - again by dragging - a middle click gets generated... The same happens when I use gvim in visual mode too - I end up pasting the code I had selected halfway because of the middle click.... Middle click can be generated only if I press both left and (Distributions)

How can I generate the middle click as the touchpad has an associated button with two options left and right for clicks. In windows that is solved easily: two finger tap means middle click. How can I find a work-around for Linux?

So I'm on my Acer Aspire One, and in the last few versions of Ubuntu, on the track pad, I could tap the bottom right corner for right click, and upper right corner for middle click. But with 9.10 the middle click tapping no longer works. How fix?

Just did a fresh install of Ubuntu 12.04 on my laptop and noticed that the middle-click (actually three finger-tap on the touchpad) on Firefox doesn't work as it used to. When doing it on a link it doesn't get opened on a new tab, in fact, it doesn't get opened at all.

This is quite annoying. For some reason I can not hold anything with my mouse.

For example.

I can not drag a window by holding its title bar. I can not move the scroll bar of any window by mouse. I can not even select text Alt+Click on a window does not move it.

All these tasks are related to dragging. And this dragging is not working.

Currently running ubuntu 12.10 on my Acer Aspire S3 ultrabook and i've been fighting with it trying to get the mouse middle click to use three finger tap on it.

I could do this without an issue on 12.04 using this method - MacBook Pro Touchpad Optimization 12.04 LTS but this doesn't work on 12.10.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

On recently upgrading to 12.04, I find that the middle click with my logictec marble mouse doesn't work any more (formally achieved by clicking both buttons). Anoying since I can't do a middle-click paste.

Can anyone think of an easy solution? Or should I file a bug?

Running Ubuntu 11.10, 32 bit on a vista-era sony vaio. Besides all of the crappy graphics and web cam issues I had to solve, the laptop worked great. But for the last week, the touchpad either: 1. does not work 2. dies suddenly and doesn't let me move around without a usb mouse. 3 (most common/annoying).

i'm trying to come up with a good .desktop file for sublime text 2, but middle click isn't opening a 2nd window, and when I specify an Exec line with --new-window sublime opens 2 windows to start!

Is there any way to specify a different command line when you middle click (shift click etc) on the unity launcher?

I have installed Ubuntu 12.04.1 on my new Lenovo IdeaPad Y580 M772DGE. Unfortunately the right mouse button is not working correctly. Every mouse button click is interpreted as a left mouse button click. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the synaptics (xserver-xorg-input-synaptics) drivers, but the problem is still present.

What else can I do?
