Using a non-stock ROM, I really miss one-handed slide/swipe/swype/trace input.
SlideIt can do one-handed input, and it's what I'm using now. But it's just simply not as good as the Samsung one handed keyboard or Swype.
I remember that an old Galaxy Tab came with a version of Swype that could flip over to the side of the screen. That would be ideal for the Note 2, IMO.
I was prompted to update swype this morning. I did so, and now everytime I select swype it closes automatically and I get the android keyboard. Anyone else having this issue?
- Swype Beta is checked in Language & Input (android keyboard is selected and grey in this screen)
- Choose Input Method screen. I select "Swype Beta". It flashes to Swype.
Anyone else have this problem w/ Swype after updating to FroYo?
Upon re-boot, more times than not I loose the ability to "swype" the keyboard. Inputing individual keys continues to work.
I became frustrated with the latest Swype Beta and tried downgrading to one of the 3.26.92.xxxx versions of swype. I downloaded 3 different apk's from around the web.
So The Swype Inc. Just Released A Update For Swype. I Just Downloaded The Beta Installer And Now Have The Beta As An Alternate Keyboard. I'm Rooted With Monster 5.3 And I Know The Samsung Keyboard May Get Irritating. Look At This Video On How To Get It: All New Swype 1.3 Hands-On [Best Android Apps] - YouTube :)
Swype Beta for Android
The latest beta version of Swype includes:
-Personal Dictionary Backup & Sync
-Split Keyboard for Tablets
-Keyboard Themes
-Hotwords
This is the Swype beta for Android OS. It can be used in any roms (also in stock rom). This is for Swype lovers who can't get Swype in their roms.
I haven't used the Samsung keyboard in a while. I decided to enable it today because I wanted to show someone the Swype feature. I noticed I couldn't find it. I went to the keyboard settings for my device, and noticed that Swype was an entirely separate keyboard.
I check this tablet @bb today. It does not have Swype.
Any way to instal it?

Hello, I just got a a Samsung Galaxy S3 last month and had no problems with it until a few days ago. My Swype keyboard keeps disappearing for no apparent reason. I get the little choose input notification and try to choose swype, although I don't normally have to, and nothing happens. I really like using it, especially the latest version.
