I'v bought a new graphic card and installed it on my pc.
Now - ubuntu won't load, all I get is a command line terminal at the end.
I've tried to type startx and got this error:
NVIDIA(0): The NVIDIA GPU at PCI:2:0:0 in not supported by the 173.14.30 NVIDIA driver
NVIDIA(0): Failed to initialize the NVIDIA graphics device.
Screen(s) found, but none have a usable configuration.
Now what do I do?
I have ubuntu 12.04 64-bit system, when i run glxinfo i see some strange error about indirect rendering and failed to load some lib32/dri/swrast_dri libraries.

Hi,I recently bought a Thinkpad T520 with both integrated intel gfx and nvidia discrete gfx. While I mostly use the gfx for normal usage, to hook up to an external display, I have to use the nvidia card. How can I get both the intel and nvidia drivers installed so that when I boot with intel gfx, the intel driver is used and when I reboot with nvidia, the nvidia driver is used? I
I have a new system I built this week. I have the nvidia drivers installed, but desktop effects, googleearth and Quake4 all try to load the /usr/lib/libGL.so.1 from mesa-libGL and fail to start.
I have two other machines, both with nvidia video, and don't have the problem with them. I've looked for differences on the systems, but haven't located anything so far.
first at all check lspci | grep -i vgaI have optimus and I see both cards, Intel and nVidia. What do you see?If you install xf86-video-intel instead of nvidia driver, does it work then?

My laptop is Dell Inspiron 5420, with two graphic cards:
Intel HD Graphics 4000
Nvidia GeForce GT 630M
I took the Thinkpad T400 configuration guide as an example to configure my Linux, but I only get the integrated card to work, and the card is not using the Intel driver
Currently, the behavior of my system is:
using the intel driver in the Xorg.config, X cannot starts, reports cannot find
Hi!
I've a problem in my Samsung notebook with Sandybridge i5 2410m and Intel HD3000 graphic card, on Ubuntu 12.04.
Yesterday I installed an upgrade, with a a new xorg video intel driver.
Now I can't use unity 3D but only unity 2D because I think mesa driver doesn't work properly.
I want to enable desktop effects (normal or extra) but I get the message:
Desktop effects could not be enabled.
I have a ATI Radeon HD3200 graphics card. I've seen in other posts that this has to do with the driver 'fglrx'. But when I do:
dmesg|grep 'fglrx'
