http://forums.fedoraforum.org – Hi. I have a suspend problem with my t61. I can suspend only once. After that one suspend, when I press Fn+F4 eg. suspend to ram again screen goes blank, hdd spins down, then after a few seconds hdd spins up again, but screen remains black. Nothing else helps than forced reboot. Then I have one suspend left again :) Since I don't use my laptop very often, I can't really tell when it started. I think kernel 3.3 was fine. I've searched logs, but could not find anything useful. I think it is a kernel or video driver - nouveau - problem. I'd like to make a bug report, but since I have so litt (HowTos)

I recently installed Fedora 18 on my machine and have spend a few days on configuring it. I am using the kernel version 3.7.4.

I have unfortunately faced the following two very strange issues that I couldn't solve them:

1. Suspend to RAM does not work. When I choose suspend I get the black text mode screen with log messages but the system does not suspend.

I hardly ever put my laptop on suspend/hibernate, so I don't know how long I've had this issue for. I'm on Ubuntu 11.10. When I turn my laptop back on again from suspend- a blank screen shows up and none of the keyboard buttons/touch-pad respond; only way to recover is holding down the power button to restart.

Hi! I'm new fedora user and I've installed fedora 12 on my laptop. The only problem, that appears is that suspend option doesn't work good. So when I runt the command "sudo pm-suspend" (or click it in the top menu) the suspend process starts, screen goes black, I can read: syncing filesystems, freezing prcessess, frezing tasks, freezing consoles ...

hi everyone, I have a little problem with my laptop.this is the way I suspend my laptop: I open a terminal and type "sudo pm-utils", suspends perfect, then I push the power button, everything resumes fine, but if I don't stop kill the pm-suspend command (ctrl + c) the laptop go to suspend again.  there is a way to avoid this?

Hi,I did my normal update recently, and then my suspend stopped working.

My system is able to resume from suspend only after I've let it hibernate:scratch:.

When I do a fresh boot and suspend the system just after the desktop started, resuming will result in a black screen and I had to power off the computer (see pm-suspend-kde-fail.log).

I don't have a laptop. I'm running #! on a desktop.How do I suspend ?pm-suspend works...

It works!! alright it was a video driver problem, and for some reason I think there is a problem with the nouveau driver and the kernel. I read this thread, and I don't think the problem is fixed yet. I reloaded the nvidia-304xx driver and suspend and hibernate work fine.

I've tried ubuntu, kubuntu, fedora and linux mint. all 64 bit versions.

I've also tried to suspend through applications like acpitool. But nothing works. When I click on Suspend, the screen goes blank but the computer is still running. The wireless network adaptor gets disabled for a second and then comes back on. All I have to do is press a key and I get the unlock screen prompt.
