Okay I have done with process with 2.2 eclipse as well and it didn't work either so I figured I would try it with 2.3
I do every single little thing in this list.
1. sbf to 234
2. Root using MotorolaOneclick
3. Install Voodoo OTA rootkeeper and protect root but temp unroot
4. Apply 235 update in stock recovery
5.
I turned on my kids KFHD today and saw a lock screen ad, which I had eliminated when I rooted the device. I went to titanium backup and, sure enough, no root anymore. Voodoo didnt keep it. I used a method on XDA to root in the first place but IDK if it will still work on 8.3.0 (doubt it) and I dont feel like doing a data wipe right now to find out. Does anyone know to regain root on this version?
I have been rooted since I got my S3, when the jellybean OTA came I used voodoo OTA rootkeeper to keep my root, it seemed to work fine, all of my apps that used root still worked (root explorer, adfree), the other day I tried to use titanium backup and it said it failed to gain root so I checked my superuser app and everything there looked fine, I tried some googleing and came across threads wher
I installed stock OTA JB a couple of days ago and lost root access. I tried using Voodoo to restore root but that failed. Finally I used Wugs tool and it seemed to be successful. Titanium Backup is working as rooted as so do a couple of other root apps.
I just installed Barnicle, and when I went to run it, it indicated that I was not rooted.
I think I downloaded the wrong root. I didnt read carefully and downloaded a root for the galaxy s2 i9100 -_- it was a jeboo kernel. I got the phone rooted and when i tried to turn it on... It rebooted and then kept going to reboot and reboot. So i got it to the CWM-based Recover v6.0.2.7 and i wipe data/factory reset. but it still keeps rebooting. can someone help me please? do i need to unroot?
I am trying to root my evo 4g with hboot 2.18 without losing my apps or the app data so I can transfer them to my new galaxy s3. Kids would freak if I lost their angry birds progress. I used the non htcdev, non enrevoked3 method to get most of the way there. I have unlocked bootloader and think I got root. I flashed a rom and lost everything but had root access on apps..
I bought this phone yesterday, Rooted this morning before work, Voodoo backed it up, and updated to the newest update,
Now when I try to Restore root everything looks grand except Superuser says the su binary is not found.
The su binary is located in /system/bin I believe or xbin but none the less its there.
