so now that we have root, I tried using WIFI Tether app and it doesn't seem to work. I'm not sure what device profile I should use if any of them. Any one have any suggestions?
Guys, need some help. I am on AOPK JB ROM and Wifi Tether is supposed to work, et I am having troubles getting it to work on mine. I have used both the built in hot spot as well as Wifi Tether for Root. On the built in hot spot, it will work till the point of showing up on my tablet or other phones.
ok guys I need to find an app ( preferably free that does what foxfi use to do.) it seems foxfi does not work with 4.1+ devices. my buddy needs a wifi tether app but is not willing to root. also the fatten toggle seems to not work on his device. any ideas?
So I managed to install clockworkmod, and rooted by stock rom with superadmin. I installed Wifi Tether for root phones, it works perfectly. I ran across some issues though. There is something strange happening.
I have been struggling to resolve an issue that has been bugging me since i got my phone. I am trying to successfully tether 4g lte to my iPad at decent speeds. When i use my stock wifi tether, i get 0.14 mbps- 0.55mbps. When i use wireless tether for root users i can get about 1.0-2.5 max. When i tether my laptop, i can get up to 27 mbps.
Didn't see a definitive answer: Anyone figure out Foxfi/PDANet wifi tethering? USB works fine, but Wifi tethering says to lock the screen, then either enter credential passwords that don't exist even after clearing credentials. Enabling the hotspot of course brings up subscription check. Any success or tips? Or is there another working wifi tether app, non root?
As I'm sure you all know, prior to 4.3, we could use tethering with foxfi without an issue. Now that we're on 4.3, it no longer works. I decided to root, with the saferoot method, got everything set up, and can't use any wifi tether apps still? half of them check the status of the wifi subscription via verizon, and the others say device not rooted.
