Support S3 Microphone works in S-Voice/Dictation but not calls

I have found that my microphone is not working during voice calls however it works fine in S Voice, voice recording and video recording. Looking through the forums and web it appears that many people have trouble with their microphones but I've yet to find anyone who has a microphone that works in all applications except calls. Has anyone had this problem and how did they fix it? (General)

I had a question for everybody! I initially had the S4, but my microphone was acting up...voice typing, voice searches and phone calls were all whack, so I ended up exchanging it for the One...but something feels off here. Has anybody else had microphone issues? How is the S4 at eliminating ambient noise when using voice dictation?

Hi all, wondering if someone can help me figure this out....

My microphone isn't working regularly.People can not hear me on phone calls. It won't record, video has no sound, no Google Now voice actions, etc...

But... it works on speakerphone (I've google that and comes across many instances of that problem)

It also works if i plug a microusb cord in the port. Thats the strange one.

OK, I just updated my phone to JB (from ICS), and the one thing that I do not like about JB is that the voice dictation feature took one step back. In ICS, I had continuous voice dictation, which allowed me to take long pauses in between sentences. In JB, the voice dictation automatically stops if there's a pause longer than a couple of seconds.

Is this not possible on the voice recorder on the note 2? I tried to do it but it says it is not.

I find this surprising as most phones have this function.

Just recently bought a Bluetooth Headset for my Motorcycle Helmet, I'm on ICS right now, SCV7. The problem I'm finding is that no matter which voice commands app I use (Vlingo, utter, Skyvi, Voice Search) I can't seem to get it to use the headset's mic to listen to me!

But whenever I take a call the microphone works just fine.

I am working on an application that records my own voice (using AudioSource.MIC or AudioSource.DEFAULT) when a call is made or received, using MediaRecorder. The problem that I'm having is that, whenever the microphone starts recording, I can no longer hear anything from the call. As soon as I remove the application, I can hear everything perfectly.

Why is this happening?

3G dongle Huawei E1550 is able to make voice calls using huawei app in windows. With search I found the same app for linux (called Mobile Partner), seems it's working and makes calls but without sound (tested on several machines). Is there any other software for making voice calls with this modem?

I was so giddy when I got my phone yesterday...spent all night setting it up. Got my first call this morning...the microphone doesn't work. Can't use Google voice search or make calls or anything. :'(

I spoke to a guy in support and he said he's never come across this issue before and will send out a replacement...but can't say when it will arrive.
