I wonder why when I am using Ubuntu, my laptop temperature increases. It's around 62 degrees or less. I am already using Jupiter and have set it to power saving mode but if I use maximum performance the temperature can reach 70 degrees or more.

I do not know what is the cause, but since I've installed opensuse 11.2 my hdd temperature always rises up to 50 C, and higher to 53 (when i download something). When at the same time in windows my temperature was max 40-43 (45 when i was scanning it with anivirus), well it can be dust it can be my warm room, but can it be linux or some of its components that make my HDD so hot???
So I've been using Ubuntu for a week now and I've noticed that my laptop heats up like crazy compared to windows and it auto-shuts down. Now I know that if I go to the terminal and use the command "sensors" it will show me the temperature.
There are some android app for adjust CPU frequency for better performances. According to my knowledge over locking, CPU side effect is generate higher temperature. So its not good for phone/tablet hardware health. Also CPU is the main hardware that generate 90% of temperature. So overclocking CPU is good thing? or am i incorrect?:D
Temperature Monitor is a special software that provide you the detailed condition of your computer temperature including processor and system curent temperature under Mac OS X. With this Temperature Monitor 4.7 you can set when your computer should be shut down to avoid over heating.
I have been having a problem today with my phone getting hot. A couple hours ago the temperature while charging for 20 minutes went up to 118°. While writing his thread, the temperature has gone from 100 to 103. A few minutes ago while just texting it went to 107. I've only had my SR since the 14th and I hope I don't have a bad one.
The other thing is I'm running 2.3.5.
I have a HP Compaq 8510p laptop that I just installed OpenSuse 11.2. Since I had it running, the laptop runs noticebly hotter than when in windows - even under very little load, basically web surfin. It gets so hot it makes my hands sweat! The fan also runs a bit louder and it always spitting out hot air. Ive done a little research and haven't come up with much.
