I'm very confused, I have an acer one netbook, downloaded ubuntu onto it and is now the only OS on the system. everything worked fine... Untill out of the blue I was unable to see my networks and i couldn't connect... but after a while i found the if i went to system network settings, the airplane mode was turned on? (Never touched it befor) and the wireless was off?!!
If I power down my HTC one at night, I have a problem when I turn it on the next day. "Airplane mode" turns on automatically and I cannot get on mobile data. I turn airplane mode "off". When I go to settings it says "airplane mode turning off" but it is not doing anything. I have to reset the phone to fix. Any ideas?
Thank you
Hello everyone.
I'm just wondering if the airplane mode on my android phone is only a fake. I've been trying for weeks to turn on and off the airplane mode of my phone but it never becomes an airplane, nor even show me a wheel, a wing or any other stuff that belongs to a plane.
WHY? WHY? Who can tell me WHY? Will your phone become a plane if you turn on the airplane mode?
HEllo. I'm new here, so I figured I'd introduce myself a bit. I have the LG Optimus V from VM. Recently I dropped it while crosgsing the street and it fell apart. I put it back together and it's fine for the most part except that now the Home button doesn't work, I have to press the Back one a million times sometimes to get to my "homepage" where all my apps are.
So my phone keeps turning itself off and back on no matter what mode it's in... recovery... download mode... most of the time it can't even make it through the boot logo without restarting itself... I have no idea what's going on. Anybody have ideas?
Haven't really damaged the phone, no water or anything so I'm not sure what could be wrong with it.
I have a problem get the WiFi to work in Ubuntu 11.10.
When I use gnome network manager it indicates that wireless is disabled by hardware switch while it is not.
In the Network Settings Panel in the wireless section, it only shows the hardware address and the switch is off and it's disabled so that I can't change the status to On.
At the bottom there is an airplane mode switch which is On, and tu
The Gnome documentation states
Switch Airplane Mode on. This will turn off your wireless connection until you switch off airplane mode again.
Using Airplane Mode will completely turn off both wireless and Bluetooth connections.
I have Airplane Mode turned on in my Network Settings, but still am able to access both Wireless and Bluetooth.
So, what is the real purpose of having Airplane Mode?
I have a rooted droid bionic with eclipse rom. I accidentally dropped my phone really bad and now the power/lock button is broken. I have no way of turning it on. When I plug the phone with the charger it'll turn on, but it'll only show the battery screen showing me that it's charging. I can get into recovery because I simultaneously hold the volume keys before I plug the charger.
When I select Airplane mode a message comes up saying: Airplane mode allows you to turn off calling, messaging and data network features. It also turns off connectivity features such as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
