http://androidforums.com – replaced this 3 times now and still the same old problem...screen going black and cant really do anything when ending a call...a battery pull resolves this issue...can some tell me if the proximaty sensor is held in place by some adhesive or is just simply left floating in the phone..?...i noticd that when the phone displays a black screen a violent shake or tap of the phone on my thigh seems to bring the phone back to life????????????????? weird that..:D (General)

I have a Verizon Galaxy Note 2, stock, on the latest update. Since the update I've experienced a weird issue with my phone.

While on a phone call the screen turns off when I put the phone to my ear. This is expected behavior, but the screen will not turn back on until the caller hangs up or I pull the battery.

Love this awesome phone but as of late the proximity sensor on this note has either broke or is buggy. First started to notice that the red light of the proximity sensor would not turn off. After a while as I make phone calls my screen will turn off but as I put my phone away from my face it doesn't turn back on.

I have a P925. Unlocked it though IMEI, my proximity sensor was acting up, since the screen went off during calls and no button would bring it back. I checked the rest of the components on the same flex cable (camera, earspeaker, noise mic) and all work fine except for the proximity sensor, so i thought it might be a software problem. I have been having some problems with my HTC One X a bit lately while on phone calls. When I make a call (non-speaker phone) or im on the phone, and I want to check out a message or another app, I am having problems with this. It brings me back to the unlock screen, but when I try to touch the screen to unlock it, it goes back to black.

Have the Rogers HTC One X....its rooted and bootloader unlocked using the HTCDev method. The only problem i have is with the Proximity Sensor!!

During calls, unless i COMPLETELY cover the sensor, as in the phone is pressed against my face/ear...the phone will stay on!!

So now its seems like it only has two settings: Screen ON when nothing is there.

Hello my friends, I'm looking for about how to solve the problem between the proximity sensor and the call rec. I suppose everyone knows what i'm talking about, i've done the phone apk with call rec and no incremental tone. And if the proximity sensor is activated and you try to record a call it stops.....:silly: Any idea or trick to solve the problem? Thanks :good:

Weird sensor glowing red 12 weeks 4 days ago

I checked my phone for the green led blinking email notifier when I spotted a very faint constant red glow coming from above the screen (which was dark because it wasn't turned on yet) but the red glow was to the left of where the notification led is. It was glowing from either the ambient light sensor or the proximity sensor.

I am experiencing the proximity sensor issue while on a phone call since the new jb update. This issue was solved on the previous update. Is anyone else having this issue happening again? Thanks community
