Hoping someone can help me get my head around using these .nomedia files for audio in ICS - I have a bunch of ringtones etc. sitting in the media/audio/.. folders with a .nomedia file at the top level so these audio files don't show up in my music player, but by having that file there, I can no longer set them as my ringtone/alarm/notification.
Hi, running 2.3.3 on a Galaxy S i9000. I have a whole batch of mp3s the media scanner won't pick up. I've tried copying them to my phone several times, rebooting, renaming the folder, moving files but it's like they are invisible to the stock music player or media scanner. However if I launch one of the mp3s from ES File Explorer, they launch fine in the stock music player... Any suggestions?
Anyone have this issue or a solution:
After adding music files (via usb) i can see the files on the device but the stock music player doesn't see them (or google play). If i navigate to the music folder and click on one of the files they play, but will not show up in the music library in the player.
I have around 9gb of music on my SD card, and as you know the media storage thing takes AGES to scan your SD card everytime you boot, so i installed startup manager to disable it. (so as you know they won't show in the stock media player because they have to be scanned first) Anyways i've tried a lot of the free music players on the app store and most just show around 55 songs (the same songs).
Hi,
My wife recently got a Thrive. So far so good. I copied a bunch of music from her computer to the device, using ES File Transfer app. For a short time, when I opened the Music app (that came on the device) it would show all the music I put there. Now suddenly it says there is no music in the library. The files are still there because I can see them on the file explorer.
Hi Everyone,
I'm a rooted WARP user.
Anyone ever have trouble with their music files not showing in the player (stock app)? Rebooting the phone doesn't work. And I've gone into the file manager to search for the files, where I do see them (they always show up there, so I assume the phone sees the SD card).
Alright so, I moved my music around onto my sd card for music player to read it. Later that night it died and powered off, when I turned it on music player won't find it. I installed another player and can't find it. Currently I'm having to go to astro and dig through my sd card to find them. Also, my sound settings were changed. any ideas?
Hello
I have two questions in one.
I have a very large music database (around 50gb) that I want to port to my phone (galaxy s2 skyrocket with rogers).
I tried first a 64gb micro sdxc class 10 uhs-1 card from sandisk.
I have an issue with the Stock HTC music player. I have downloaded music that is save on both the internal and external SD that plays just fine through the music player. The issue that I have though is that once I delete a song or album, the Music library never updates. It just continues to display the songs that were deleted.
